An original concept exploring a dark aesthetic through the polarizing theme of ‘ownership versus companionship.’

This design features symbolism that is intended to carry the viewers mind through the piece and then back unto themselves.
For example, the constrictive nature of the thorns entangling the depicted figures leg can allude to the dangers of imposed value and oppression through protection. These thorns are contrasted by the fragility of the balloon flowers behind them. The young woman featured in the image is clutching at a balloon dog which signifies longing for comfort in hollow companionship. All of this is to say, the viewer will be rewarded by exploring the design with an analyzing eye and reflective mind.
